Elizabeth von Nardroff
Elizabeth, our American born and educated head tutor, has over 20 years tutoring experience in the US and across Europe.
Elizabeth, founder and head tutor, is friendly and approachable as well as knowledgeable in all things ACT and SAT. American born and educated, she is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and recipient of a CELTA degree. She has over 20 years of experience tutoring a variety of subjects, including Math, English, and Writing at secondary and university levels in the US and across Europe. In 2005, she began SAT and ACT tutoring in earnest, studying the particularities of the tests and best strategies, earning her students high scores in the process! In 2011, Elizabeth founded American SAT Tuition, which while based in London, welcomes students worldwide. Schools such as the Sevenoaks School and students from around the UK, Scotland, Germany, Africa, and beyond have benefitted Elizabeth’s lessons and lectures.
On top of being an expert in the US admission tests, she is well-versed in the UK schooling system (A-Level and IB), so she understands the particular challenges international students face when tackling the American SAT and ACT exams.

Chemistry & German Tutor
Dr Sandra Gerscher
Born and educated in Germany, Sandra Gerscher has a PhD in chemistry and has trained and worked as a secondary level science teacher.
Over her years mentoring medical students and tutoring A-level chemistry in Germany and the UK, she has developed a flexible, student-centred approach to teaching. She has excellent subject knowledge, and excels at explaining even the most difficult concepts in science to students from all walks of life.
Sandra utilises her expertise at American SAT & ACT Tuition by tutoring for the SAT 1 Subject Tests in Chemistry and German. She offers tutoring on a one-to-one basis, or in small groups of students with similar abilities. In person lessons are available in the Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells area, as well as worldwide via Skype.

Sheela is an experienced tutor and a graduate of Brown University who specializes in helping students achieve elite results in their academic performance. She has lived in London for over two years and is familiar with UK educational formats and exams. She tutors for the American SAT/ACT/SSAT in central London.
In addition to her work as a tutor, she is currently a contributor to British Vogue and have written for various U.S.-based publications (The Boston Globe, Art in America, Forbes, etc). This experience has deepened her understanding of writing and reading, which brings additional insight to her tutoring sessions.
SAT/ACT Math and SAT Math Subject Tests Tutor
Dan is a world record GMAT Quantitative Score co-holder and a highly experienced Professional Mathematics Tutor both in Europe and North America. His unparalleled analytical skills and ability to breakdown and explain complicated Math concepts in an easily understandable manner make him an ideal SAT/ACT math tutor.
Flexible and organized, with a pleasant personality and a confident teaching approach, he is able to employ unique teaching strategies with sense of humour, motivating students to do their best on the SAT/ACT tests.
Vardahn graduated with a degree in Engineering from Cornell University in May 2012 and is now based in London. Vardahn started tutoring on the SAT and SAT 2 Subject Tests back in the States. Although his expertise is in maths and science, he is happy to help students with essays and writing in general. He currently tutors students in the following exams:
PSAT, SAT1, SAT 2 - Mathematics (Levels 1 and 2), Chemistry, Physics & English
Aside from his passion for teaching, he is currently pursuing his Masters in Smart Cities and Urban Analytics at UCL, with the hopes of finding new and innovative ways to make our global cities more efficient.
Previously Head of US and International Applications at Sevenoaks School, Julia has had many years’ experience with providing guidance, information and support to students interested in applying to university in the US.
She is particularly knowledgeable on all aspects of the application process, enabling her to help our students by:
- identifying appropriate universities
- reviewing their application essays
- advising on whether to choose the SAT or ACT
- informing the student’s school of their role in the application process

Lorraine is an energetic and experienced executive coach and head of Steele Consulting. At American SAT & ACT Tuition, she brings her experience working with board level and senior managers to a younger client base.
Her focus is to help students build personal resourcefulness, resilience and confidence to ease them through the unfamiliarity of such a critical interview, skills that will serve them well for future interviews.
An American born in Iran, Lorraine has lived, worked and studied in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and America, conducting her business in English, Italian and French. She received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley and her MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. She has an OCR Diploma in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring NVQ Level 7.
